Evelyn Gray Brantley, 86, passed away on April 24, 2024. She was the daughter of Willie W. Gray, Sr. and Peggy Doris Gray (Glover). She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee Brantley, Jr.

She was the owner of Evelyn’s Small World baby clothing store in Suffolk. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband and family. Evelyn was a member of Westminster Presbyterian church for many years and was a proud member of the Timothy Group there. In Evelyn’s own words, “I had a great life.”

Evelyn is survived by her son, William “Bill” Burnett and his wife, Karen; daughter, Kathy; granddaughters, Casey and Taylor and her husband, Isaac; great granddaughter to be, Phoebe; sister, Mary Hyatt; brother, Willie Gray; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cats, Mickey and Minnie.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 11AM at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Downtown Suffolk Chapel officiated by Rev. Ruffin Alphin. Burial will follow the service at Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family invites everyone back to their home following the burial, 3951 Ropers Church Rd, Lanexa, Va.
