Norfolk, Va — Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads has joined the Peninsula affiliate of the international non-profit in postponing its annual homeowner application season, which was scheduled to commence May 1.
“Like the Peninsula organization, we cannot find affordable land to build homes for qualified low-income families and this decision provides time to acquire land for the 2025/2026 build season,” Frank Hruska, Executive Director of Habitat SHR said. “It’s very disappointing for us and the
region,” Hruska says social media, website, newsletter, and press releases will announce the next homeowner application period. “If you know anyone with affordable land for sale, please email us at info@shrhabitat.org,” says Hruska.
Habitat SHR’s home repair program is not impacted. Low-income homeowners in need of this assistance can e-mail homerepairs@shrhabitat.org to determine if they qualify for this program.
