One ticket in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing matched the first five numbers to win $1 million. That ticket was bought at Joe’s Kwik Marts, located at 1555 Holland Road in Suffolk. It was one of just four tickets nationwide to match all the winning numbers except the Mega Ball number. The store receives a $10,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
The winning numbers for the March 19 drawing were 24-46-49-62-66, and the Mega Ball number was 7.
The holder of the winning ticket has 180 days from the drawing date to claim the prize. It’s advised by the Virginia Lottery to sign the back of the ticket immediately to establish ownership. To claim the million-dollar prize, the winner should contact the Virginia Lottery.
Mega Millions drawings take place on Tuesday and Friday nights at 11:00. You can watch the live stream at www.valottery.com. The odds of winning the $1,000,000 prize in Mega Millions are 1 in 12,607,306.
All profits from the Virginia Lottery support K-12 education in the state. Suffolk received over $10.3 million in Lottery funds for K-12 education last fiscal year, contributing to a total of over $867 million raised for K-12 education in Fiscal Year 2023. This represents about 10 percent of Virginia’s total K-12 school budget.
