Black Family Wellness Expo to take place this Saturday

The Suffolk VA Chapter of The Links, Incorporated will host the Black Family Wellness Expo health fair on March 16, 2024, aiming to reduce health and economic disparities and enhance lives in the Black community. This initiative in Suffolk targets health disparities negatively impacting the community’s well-being and quality of life.
The local event is part of The Links, Incorporated’s nationwide Black Family Wellness Expos held across the country on March 16, 2024, with the goal of leveraging the entire membership to improve outcomes for Black families. The Suffolk Health Fair contributes to raising awareness about conditions affecting the quality of life for those in the Black community.
The event is organized by the Suffolk (Va.) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. It will take place on March 16, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. — rain or shine — at the East Suffolk Recreation Center, located at 138 S. 6th Street, Suffolk.
The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation established in 1946. It comprises over 17,000 professional women of African descent in 299 chapters across 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom. The organization is dedicated to enriching and sustaining the culture and economic survival of African Americans and individuals of African ancestry. Members contribute over 1 million documented hours of community service annually, strengthening communities and the nation.
Since its founding, the Suffolk Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has remained committed to its mission as a service organization dedicated to Friendship and Service, aiming to enrich the lives of members and the communities they serve.
