The Virginia State Police are currently investigating a single-vehicle crash inside the westbound tube of the Downtown Tunnel. The incident took place around 10:38 a.m. when a tractor-trailer disregarded the over-height warning signs and got stuck inside the tunnel.

Efforts are underway to extricate the vehicle from the tunnel.

All westbound traffic on Interstate 264 is being redirected to southbound Interstate 464. Authorities anticipate a two-hour timeframe for potential reopening of the affected area.
