Suffolk, Virginia — Suffolk Public Works issued an advisory regarding the Route 460/Pruden Boulevard project on Friday, signaling upcoming traffic adjustments. The project mandates the closure of inside lanes in both directions, diverting traffic to the singular outside East and Westbound lanes. This alteration facilitates the construction of a raised median, enhancing road infrastructure.

  • The speed limit will be temporarily lowered to 25 mph for the duration of the lane closures.
  • Vehicles with dimensions ranging between 10 feet 1 inch and 12 feet must be accompanied by front and rear escorts.
  • Loads exceeding 12 feet wide are prohibited from traveling on US 460 in any direction.

The traffic realignment is scheduled to commence as early as March 5, 2024, contingent upon weather conditions.
