Suffolk Police Arrest Suspect in String of Commerical Robberies

On Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, at 2:31 a.m., Suffolk Emergency Communications Center received a call regarding a Commercial Burglary in progress in the 6500 block of Hampton Roads Parkway.
When officers arrived at the scene at 2:34 a.m., they observed a male subject loading items into his vehicle. The suspect fled in the scene in their vehicle, causing damage to another parked vehicle.
The suspect was later apprehended at 6:15 a.m. in the 3500 block of Calverton Way in Chesapeake with the assistance of the Chesapeake Police Department.
Sable Slade Rodriguez, age 30, of Chesapeake, was arrested and charged by Suffolk Police. During the course of the investigation, it was determine that Rodriguez was involved in a string of commercial burglaries dating back to January 2024.
Rodriguez was charged with the following: four counts of Breaking and Entering – Felony; three counts of Grand Larceny – Felony; four counts of Possession of Burglarious Tools – Felony; four counts of Destruction of Property – Felony; four counts of Larceny with Intent to Distribute – Felony.
Rodriguez is currently being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
During the initial response, a Suffolk Police Officer discharged a single round from their firearm, with no reported injuries or property damage. That officer has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of separate administrative and criminal investigations.
