Gov. Youngkin taps Suffolk’s Fire Chief for Public Safety and Homeland Security, E911 Services Board

During Wednesday’s Suffolk City Council meeting, Media and Community Relations Director Jennifer Moore announced Suffolk Fire and Rescue Chief Michael J. Barakey has been appointed to the Public Safety and Homeland Security, E911 Services Board by Gov. Glenn Youngkin.
“The purpose of the board is to provide support and assist statewide public safety centers and the provision of 911 operations and services, including through the provision of funding and the development of best practices,” Moore said. “The board is also responsible for the planning, promotion and assistance in the statewide development, deployment, and maintenance of emergency services.”
