Rev. Isaac Baker of Metropolitan Baptist Church is celebrating his return as Suffolk Electoral Board Secretary. Previously serving as Board Secretary for three years, Baker was reappointed for another three-year term by Judge Carl E. Eason on Wednesday, Dec. 20, following recommendations from the Suffolk Democratic Committee. Baker’s term went into effect on Monday, Jan. 1. 

Baker expressed how happy he was to be back with the board. 

“I have truly enjoyed working with the entire Electorate Board and staff headed by Chief Registrar Mrs. B.J. Lawrence and the men and women who volunteer to serve as officers of election of our precincts,” Baker said. “They are the best of the best of the Commonwealth of Virginia.”

The Suffolk Electoral Board will have its first meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 9.
