At approximately 4:09 pm, Suffolk Police dispatch received a call from a citizen reporting a reckless driver that had nearly collided with their vehicle  travelling west bound entering Suffolk on Route 58 from Chesapeake.  Suffolk Police Officers got behind the suspect driver on Route 58 west bound near Route 460 and observed the vehicle driving in a reckless manner.  Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the suspect vehicle refused to stop and fled.  Officers gave pursuit, which continued on Route 58 west bound into Southampton County.  The suspect vehicle was stopped with the assistance of Virginia State Police near the Pretlow Street exit.  The suspect is in custody.

No reported injuries as a result of this incident.
