Throughout October, the students, faculty, and staff of Nansemond River High School set out to collect essential items (travel-size toiletries: vaseline and lotion, journals, socks, puzzle books, tumblers, etc.) to provide a minimum of 35 chemo support bags to the CJA Foundation for breast cancer warriors.
According to a press release from the school, the goal was not only met but exceeded, as the team proudly announced the provision of 75 chemo support bags and two substantial gift baskets.
“The support and dedication of NRHS Faculty, Staff, Students, and Parents shone through in this remarkable accomplishment, exemplifying their unwavering commitment to making a difference,” the release said. “Their unwavering efforts have proven that they truly rock!
This is our sixth year partnering with the Candace J. Avents Foundation to help provide chemo
support bags to breast cancer warriors and survivors. It’s an act of kindness filled with love, support, and generosity.”
#TEAMMIA supporters would like to thank everyone who supported this campaign, demonstrating the power of community and compassion.
