On Saturday, the Bennett’s Creek Warriors (BCW) 12U team defeated the Santa Clara (CA) Wildcats 14-12 to advance to the Pop Warner Super Bowl Division 2 semifinals in Orlando.

BCW opened its scoring on a 3-yard Breon Moore touchdown, missing the extra point, and the Warriors took a 6-0 lead. Santa Clara responded with a score of its own, however, BCW blocked the extra point try, tying the score 6-6 at the half.

With both teams not able to add to the score in the third quarter, BCW’s Kevin Knight III scampered for a 65-yard touchdown run, pushing the lead to 14-6 with the Armage Haji kick. Late in the final period, the Wildcats found the endzone, but were unable to convert, giving BCW the 14-12 win. Knight finished the day with 185 yards rushing.
