Eric Ronald Aird passed away on Oct. 2, 2023. He is predeceased by his parents, George and Nellie Aird; sister, Margaret Martin; wife, Barbara and granddaughter, Elizabeth Aird.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Beverly Aird-Rankin, her husband,Chris, and their sons, Devon Rankin and Austin Rankin. His daughter, Brenda Aird, and her husband, Tom. His son, Brian Aird, and wife, Sue, and their sons, Nick Aird, and his wife Kailey, and Tim Aird. His son, Bruce Aird, and his wife, Amy, and their son, Nathan Aird. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.
Eric was a kind, thoughtful, and generous man. He enjoyed a successful career as the CFO of the Franklin Institute and later the William Penn Foundation. His family and faith always took precedence. Throughout his life, Eric was heavily involved in his church and ministry work, founding Cast Out Ministries, serving as a youth group leader and in many other roles. While he enjoyed camping, fishing, playing golf and tennis, Eric and Barbara both loved to travel and were passionate about sports and rooted faithfully for all Philadelphia teams.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with a reception immediately following on Saturday, Oct. 14, at First Baptist Church 237 Main St. with the Rev. Thurman R. Hayes Jr. officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church.
