The City of Suffolk Department of Public Works will have a scheduled road closure on Kings Fork Road between Kensington Boulevard and Godwin Boulevard nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., beginning Monday, Sept. 25, through Friday, Sept. 29, 2023.
During this period, motorists traveling northbound on Kings Fork Road and heading toward Godwin Boulevard will detour through Kensington Boulevard. To ensure smooth traffic flow and clear communication, adequate signage and message boards are in place to notify motorists of the closure and guide them along the detour routes.
Motorists should follow the designated detour signs and exercise caution while traveling near the work zone. Staying vigilant, adhering to speed limits, and obeying all traffic signs and signals are essential for the safety of motorists and work crews.
Additionally, we recommend that motorists plan their routes and allocate extra travel time to reach their destinations safely and without undue delay.
