Suffolk Fire and rescue responds to Friday morning structure fire

Suffolk Fire and Rescue units responded Friday morning, Sept. 15, 2023 to a reported structure fire in the 6900 block of Brentwood Road, the department said in a news release. The incident was reported at 07:55 a.m. and the first unit arrived on scene at 8:02 a.m., according to the release.
“Engine 7, Medic 7 and Tanker 7 arrived on scene to find smoke and fire showing from a large workshop, 30 foot by 30 foot, located on the property near a residence,” Suffolk Fire and Rescue Chief Michael Barakey said in the release. “Crews were able to attack the fire, perform a primary search, and prevent the fire from extending to the residence. The fire was placed under control at 8:15 a.m. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.”
The Suffolk Fire Marshal’s Office is leading the investigation into the cause and origin of the fire.
Responding units included Battalion 1, Car 1, Car 7, Engine 7, Engine 4, Engine 8, Engine 1, Ladder 6, Medic 7, EMS 1, Safety 1, Tanker 1, Tanker 7, Tanker 8, Carrsville Tanker 20, Brush 7, Brush 1, Fire Marshals 3,4,5,6, and 7.
