The City of Suffolk is improving transparency by making public records easily accessible to the public.
Effective Sept.11, those requesting public information have the option of submitting open records requests through the online portal, according to a city news release. While other methods for submitting requests are still available, city officials said they are excited to be able to offer a more convenient option.
“Our citizens are entitled to this information and this software assists us in streamlining that process to provide it to them, allowing us to be even more efficient as we continue to provide the transparency that our citizens deserve”, said Suffolk Director of Media and Community Relations and the FOIA Officer Jennifer Moore.
“JustFOIA is ecstatic to work with the City of Suffolk and empower them to implement a solution to this often challenging process,” the company President and Chief Executive Office Donny Barstow said. “We are fanatical about our clients’ success. It’s impressive to see the impact that JustFOIA makes on their staff and the citizens they serve.”
Too submit a request, the online request form is available at suffolkva.justfoia.com/publicportal/.
