Suffolk man indicted in January restaurant shooting

A Suffolk man faces 11 felony indictments in connection with a January shooting at the High Tide Restaurant.
The Suffolk Circuit Court grand jury handed down the indictments Wednesday, Aug. 23 against Ezaviya Jordan, 18, of Suffolk, who has remained at Western Tidewater Regional Jail since his arrest Jan. 17.
The shooting that injured three at the High Tide Restaurant, 130 Commerce St. in downtown Suffolk, occurred around 1 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 14.
Police responded to the location after hearing multiple gunshots coming from the area.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found two adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds with non-life-threatening injuries. During the investigation, officers were notified a third victim self-transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury
The indictments handed down against Jordan include aggravated malicious wounding (three counts) and conspiracy to shoot from a vehicle; direct capias indictments for use of a firearm in commission of a felony (two counts), malicious shooting/throwing at an occupied building, shooting in a public place with injury, gang participation with a juvenile, conspiring to commit aggravated malicious wounding, attempted aggravated murder and conspiracy to commit aggravated murder.
Three others also have been charged along with Jordon in the High Tide Restaurant shooting. Police charged Elijawayn Anthony, 19, of Suffolk, with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and a concealed weapon charge. Two juveniles also were arrested in connection with the incident.
On Wednesday, the grand jury handed down a total of 166 indictments with 163 of them against 52 individuals, with three additional sealed indictments.

Additional direct capias felony indictments on charges of distributing/selling for profit schedule I/II drugs, possession of a gun while selling schedule I/II drugs (three counts) and distributing schedule I/II drugs (four counts)
Ricardo George Besheppard II — Forgery, uttering and obtaining money under false pretenses greater or equal to $1,000
Adrian Denon Blake — Possession of schedule I or II drugs and possession of a gun with schedule I/II drugs, both direct capias felony indictments
James Lee Bremby Jr. — Distributing schedule I/II drugs, direct capias felony indictment
