Fine arts grant program accepting applications

Local organizations and residents hoping to increase community access to high-quality art in Suffolk have the opportunity to apply for grant funds.
Suffolk Fine Arts Commission has announced the availability of funds for its fiscal year 2023-2024 grants that include but are not limited to visual and performing arts.
The program is open to any organization or individual whose project promotes this purpose in the City of Suffolk, according to a SFAC news release.
This grant receives partial support from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
The release stated that Suffolk Fine Arts Commission will review all grant applications and determine the quantity and value of the grants to be offered.
Grant applications are being accepted by the fine arts commission through Friday, Sept. 7. Applications must be mailed or delivered by 5 p.m. that day to Jason Jones, Suffolk Fine Arts Commission liaison, Suffolk Parks and Recreation Administrative Office, 134 South 6th St. Faxed applications are not acceptable.
