Portsmouth man killed in Friday morning shooting

A Portsmouth man died early Friday from a gunshot wound in the 1000 block of Marsh Pointe Drive.
The Suffolk 911 Center received a call at 12:47 a.m., Friday May 12, from a citizen who believed they heard a gunshot in the Marsh Pointe Drive area and observed a subject running from the area.
When officers arrived, they checked the area, and spoke to available residents.
The Suffolk 911 Center received another call at 1:22 a.m. for service in the same area, this time for a shot person.
When officers arrived at the residence, an adult male was located inside suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a department news release. James T. Joseph Killebrew, 19, of Portsmouth, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
There is no suspect information at this time, according to the release. The investigation remains ongoing. Police said there is no further information available for release.
