Joseph Paul Jr., 75, widely known as Paul and P. John, peacefully entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior on March 4, 2023, in Killeen, Texas.

Born July 21, 1947, to the late Joseph Paul Sr. and Laura Paul in Emporia. P. John was raised in Suffolk. He was predeceased by his brothers, Michael, Andrew Sr., Linwood, Aaron, Willie and Chris Sr. and his second wife, Audrey Paul.

John attended the Suffolk Public Schools system and later started working various jobs such as Nansemond Cold Storage and Gwaltney. P. John is known for his hobbies like cooking, basketball, playing the lottery, wearing his suits, shooting pool and swing dancing. 

John also had a love for church. He loved God and helping out the local Salvation Army and Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia. P. John is survived by two sons, Joseph Paul lll and Michael Porter; two daughters, Kristen Vaughan and Gwen Artis; a brother Melvin; two sisters, Gloria and Elnora; sisters-in-law, three granddaughters, three great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
