Suffolk Public Schools hosted the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Band this week at each of its three high schools.
The Army TRADOC band supports the commanding general’s strategic outreach initiatives by connecting Southeastern Virginia communities with their Army, fostering national pride and esprit de corps among service members and reinforcing positive relationships with U.S. allies and partner nations.
The TRADOC band was in Suffolk to kick off their Music in Our Schools tour.
Each of the high schools had a performance on the following dates: Lakeland High School, Tuesday, Feb. 28; Nansemond River High School Wednesday, March 1; King’s Fork High School, Thursday, March 2.
The world-renowned group entertained students and staff and has performed at the White House, New York City, Los Angeles, and worldwide.
Additionally, students will get exposure and information on careers post-graduation.
