Downtown sees fourth shooting death in 17 days

A 30-year-old man was shot to death Sunday afternoon on South Saratoga Street downtown, police said.
The Suffolk 911 Center received several calls at 3:29 p.m. about shots fired in the area, then additional calls reporting that an adult male had been shot and was lying between several buildings in the 300 block of South Saratoga.
The man, Caleb Pittman of Suffolk, was pronounced dead on the scene.
It was downtown Suffolk’s fourth homicide in 17 days.
