Suffolk Police say two students at Turlington Woods School have been detained Tuesday in connection with an incident involving a gun on school property.
Officers responded to the school, located at 629 Turlington Road, at about 1:25 p.m. after administrators alerted police that they believed a student had a firearm while on school property.
During a preliminary investigation, police recovered one firearm, which led to the two students being detained.
The incident remains under investigation.
Turlington Woods is Suffolk Public Schools’ daytime alternative program for middle and high school students who, for disciplinary reasons, have been removed from their assigned school.
