Editor’s note: This article was updated at 4:45 p.m. Friday with the name of the deceased driver.

A Texas man died Friday morning after a three-vehicle accident on Hosier Road. 

The accident, which occurred at about 6:30 a.m., involved two pickup trucks and a dump truck. Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel assessed and treated all three drivers.

One pickup’s driver, Chester William Armstrong Jr., 45 of Jasper, Texas, was taken by an ambulance to an area hospital, where he died. The driver of the other pickup and the dump truck driver were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The name of the deceased man was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.  

Public Works crews have set up detours in the area as the roadway will be closed for an extended period.

Hosier Road runs parallel to Carolina Road and White Marsh Road in south Suffolk.

The accident remains under investigation.
