King’s Fork tennis team wins twice

The King’s Fork High School girls tennis team claimed two victories this week, beating Hickory High School of Chesapeake on Thursday and Heritage High School of Newport News on Tuesday.
In the 8-1 win over Hickory:
- Leah Stewart and Kaylee Hodouto won 8-1 and Meghan Powell and Brianna Rodriquez won 8-3 in doubles matches. The Bulldogs’ Janya Edwards and Nakari Blunt fell 5-8 in doubles.
- King’s Fork swept the singles matches, with Stewart, Hodouto and Powell each winning 6-3, 6-0, Edwards winning 6-1, 6-4, Blunt winning 6-0, 6-2 and Rodriquez winning 6-1, 6-0.
In the 6-3 win over Heritage, Edwards, Blunt and Powell won their singles matches by scores of 6-2, 6-0; 6-2, 6-2; and 6-0, 6-0, respectively.
Stewart fell 6-4, 6-1 and Hodouto fell 6-4, 6-0 in singles.
KFHS swept the doubles matches.
