Sentara Healthcare is offering a weeklong camp experience for rising seventh- through ninth-grade students in Suffolk Public Schools this summer.
The free camp is geared toward students with an interest in health care or science and wanting an “immersive health career exploration experience.”
The camp will be held at Sentara Obici Hospital (2800 Godwin Blvd.) from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 27 through July 1. Throughout the week, students will be introduced to different jobs and departments at the hospital.
To be considered, students must complete the following materials and submit them to their school’s guidance office by May 6:
- An application packet that can be picked up from the guidance department at the student’s school
- A recommendation letter from a teacher or guidance counselor
- A one-page essay expressing personal interest in the camp
Further instructions and forms are included in the application packet.
