Suffolk Fire and Rescue, Suffolk Police and Virginia State Police responded Sunday to a reported bomb threat at California Cartage Co. on Kenyon Road, but no explosives were found.
The threat was received by a Newport News dispatcher who then notified Suffolk Emergency Communications at 3:53 p.m. The unknown caller stated that multiple devices were set to detonate at 5 p.m. at the trucking and logistics company. The facility was evacuated until cleared by the Virginia State Police K-9 Division. The occupants were allowed to return and the building was turned back over to management.
The incident remains under investigation.
