Construction workers find unexploded ordnance in North Suffolk

Suffolk Fire & Rescue and Suffolk police responded Tuesday afternoon to the 6600 block of College Drive after construction workers found an unexploded ordnance.
Dispatchers were notified at 2:33 p.m.
Fire Marshal Chris Cornwell said the Virginia State Police Bomb Squad responded to the scene to collect and remove the item for further evaluation. No one was injured in the incident, which occurred in the area of the former Nansemond Ordnance Depot.
