Loraine Pope Peele was birthed into the world on Dec. 2, 1952, to the most loving parents, the late Willie Ray Pope Sr. and the late Patsy Copeland Pope. Loraine departed her earthly body and gained her heavenly wings on Feb. 15, 2022. She truly lived her life according to God’s influence.

Loraine’s captivating smile, jolting energy, heavenly melodic singing and soulful Sunday meals will truly be missed.

Loraine leaves to continue her legacy of love, life and truth, her husband, Clifton Peele; son, Kyette Peele Sr., (Ikai); daughter, Titania M. Darden (Fredrick); five grandchildren, Makia Darden, Shamya Darden, Kierin Peele, Sanaa Darden, Kyette Peele Jr.; godson, Chaz Foster; her siblings, Patsy Brown (Clarence), Kinnard Pope (Valerie), Charlie Pope, Gloria P. Hanna (Jay), Amonica Foster, Hector Pope (Shanda); sister-in-law, Deloise Pope; a host of special nieces and nephews whom she all adored as well as many other family and friends.

Loraine was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Ray Pope Jr. (Deloise), Jimmie Louis Pope Sr., Eric “Cookie” Pope; two sisters, Juanita Pope Craig and Linda Ray Pope.

A visitation will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will take place 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, at Gethsemane Baptist Church.
