Suffolk Department of Public Works personnel are currently on the scene of a downed traffic signal pole at the intersection of College Drive and Lakeview Parkway.

The pole failed on Monday afternoon, it is believed as the result of high winds. The incident was reported at 3:20 p.m.

Northbound College Drive at this location is currently closed with a detour in place. The closure is expected to last two to four hours as staff are working on a temporary repair this evening. A temporary traffic signal trailer will be put in place until Tuesday, when staff can better evaluate full repair measures.
