Dora Mae Artis, 90, of Suffolk, transitioned Oct. 28, 2021, at Courtland Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Rosa Artis. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Artis.

Dora was a faithful member of Canaan Baptist Church in Suffolk. She attended East Suffolk High School. Dora was employed by Joyner’s Motel in Suffolk for 54 years of dedicated service. Dora enjoyed giving to people young and old. She was always loving and giving to children, especially to her nieces and nephews.

Dora leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved brother, James L. Artis (Diane), of Franklin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery, Suffolk.
