Karen Renee Rountree-Copeland, 56, quietly went to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021. She was born on May 10, 1965, to the late George Rountree Jr. and Sonja A. Rountree.
She was a faithful member of New Mt. Joy for many years under the leadership of Bishop W.P. Wiggins and a member of the choir. Karen had a heart for people and would do anything to ensure that she was a servant for God’s people. She graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1983 and attended Norfolk State University for two years.
Left to cherish her loving memory is her husband, Sterling Copeland; two sons, Michael Cuffee Jr. (Kishana) and Marque Cuffee (Jodi); one daughter, Tiffany Corbett (Derrick); her mother, Sonja A. Rountree; one sister, Katrina Rountree-Price (Gerald); four brothers, Gregory (Melleasenah), Daryl (Rita), Corey (Tresha) and Brian (Nicole); seven grandchildren, three aunts, four uncles, nine nieces, two nephews and a host of cousins and friends. Karen will be missed by all.
A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at New Mt. Joy Food For Living Ministry. A public viewing will be from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, at Crocker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 5913 Hampshire Green, Portsmouth, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 16. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
