Suffolk Police are investigating a two-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle that occurred Saturday afternoon.

Emergency Communications was contacted at 12:32 p.m. about the accident at Nansemond Parkway and Suffolk Meadows Boulevard. The accident involved a motorcycle and pickup truck. The motorcyclist received emergency medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue before being taken by ground ambulance to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The victim’s name is being withheld until notification of next of kin.

Both lanes on Nansemond Parkway are expected to remain closed for an extended period of time as the investigation continues.
