Suffolk Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle that occurred Sunday afternoon.

Emergency Communications was contacted at 2:02 p.m. advising of the accident at Route 17 and Interstate 664. The accident involved a motorcycle and SUV. The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim’s name is being withheld following notification of next of kin.

Route 17 southbound was closed for an extended period of time for the investigation. The northbound lanes remained open.
