To the editor:
We are just learning the details — scant as they are — about the approval of the solar farm coming to Holland on Rt. 58. Again and again, it’s Surprising Suffolk!!
The three letters to the editor, published in Sunday’s Suffolk News-Herald, expressed the issues very well. We couldn’t have said it better!
As farm owners ourselves, we, also, have been approached to “go solar.” No thank you! Crop land is disappearing at an alarming rate. We wonder what our grandchildren will be eating in their senior years?
And, then, there is the issue of how the City Council handled the approval of this project — without proper notifications and public hearings. This issue is as alarming as the coming project! Citizens should be aware of how our city government is working — behind closed doors.
