UPDATE: Suffolk Police advise that the victim in this morning’s shooting has been identified as Jermaine Howard Morris, age 22, of Suffolk.
He remains hospitalized in serious condition.
Earlier: Suffolk Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Wednesday in the 600 block of East Washington Street.
The shooting was reported at 1:52 a.m., according to a city press release. Once on scene, Officers discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He received emergency medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel and was taken by ground ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing at this time, and there is no further information available, the press release stated.
