Suffolk Police are looking into an undetermined death that happened on Elizabeth Street on Wednesday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the shooting in the 400 block at about 10:05 a.m., city spokeswoman Diana Klink stated. Officers found an adult female suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The woman was assessed and treated by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel and transported to a local hospital, but she was later pronounced deceased, Klink stated.

“The investigation into this undetermined death is ongoing at this time; however, foul play is not suspected,” Klink stated in an email.
