Deaconess Patricia Ann Perkerson Copeland, 66 of Suffolk, transitioned on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. The Isle of Wight County native graduated from Windsor High School. “Pat” as she was known to family and friends was a forklift operator for Sunoco Products with more than 20 years of service. She was a member of White Oak Spring Baptist Church, where she served on the Deaconess Ministry and a teacher for the Children’s Church.
“Pat” was preceded to glory by her parents, Harry and Mable Perkerson, and brother, Percell “Bubba” Perkerson. Her memory will live forever in the hearts of her husband, Herman Copeland; son, Marc Perkerson (Karen); one brother, Kevin Perkerson (Nancy), of Hampton; five sisters, Joyce Knight, of Newport News, LaFrance Perkerson, of Suffolk, Cynthia Perkerson, of Portsmouth, Lenora Butler, of Chesapeake, Robin Kea (Dwight), of Hillside, N.J.; one grandchild, Courtney Perkerson; a special friend, Brenda Lee; brother-in-law, Mathew Copeland; two sisters-in-law, Cherry Lewis and Jovannie Copeland, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, cousins and many caring friends.
A public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at White Oak Spring Baptist Church, 26125 Delaware Road, Franklin, with the pastor, the Rev. Melvin Wofford delivering the eulogy. An entombment of Deaconess Copeland’s remains will be held at Carver Cemetery, Suffolk.
