Suffolk Police have arrested a man following their investigation of an alleged rape that occurred the evening of Jan. 17 at a Suffolk residence.

Decorelle Jermaine Demiel, age 35, of Suffolk, was arrested Jan. 19, on charges including taking indecent liberties with child under age 15; rape — victim helpless or mentally incapacitated; taking indecent liberties with child under age 15; sale/distribute marijuana; and purchase alcohol for unauthorized person. The alleged incidents in question involved a known juvenile female.

He is currently being held without bond at Western Tidewater Regional Jail. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
