Walter Randall Boone, 75, of Suffolk, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at Sentara Obici Hospital Suffolk. He was born in Gates County N.C. on July 1, 1945, to the late Charlie and Ava Boone. He was predeceased by brother Charles Arnold Boone.  

He was a graduate of East Suffolk High School, class of 63, and Norfolk State University, class of 67. He is survived by his wife, Jean Marie Bradley Boone; daughter, Tonia Boone; son, Andre’ Boone; and four older children, Rev. Stephen Cheeks (Rosalyn); Pastor Steven Cheeks (Maxine); Karen Delesandro (Jerry); Joya Tynes (John); 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six siblings Vernice Chalmers (Marvin); Lonnell Boone (Stella); Audrey Watson; Glenda Simmons (Arthur); Gloria Boone; Sharon Elam; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. 

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27, at New First Baptist Church, 1105 Hosier Road. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the service. Due to COVID-19, the service is limited to family only. Live streaming will be available: Facebook/Steven Cheeks.
