New city HR director announced

City Manager Patrick Roberts on Thursday announced the appointment of Robin Wynn as director of human resources for the city of Suffolk, effective July 1.
Wynn has served as human resources director for the Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Authority in Richmond since 2017, and her expertise in the field spans 28 years in senior positions across many industries.
She is completing her Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University, with an expected graduation date of December 2020, and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in human resources from Saint Leo University. Further, she has been designated as a National SHRM member for more than 25 years, and is an HRCI Senior Professional in Human Resources, a SHRM Senior Certified Professional from the Society of Human Resource Management, World at Work member, and member of the International Federation of Employee Benefits Plans. HRCI is the premier credentialing organization for the human resources profession, setting the standard for rigor, excellence and expertise.
“Robin brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in the ever-evolving human resources field,” Roberts stated. “She has a proven track record of helping organizations in a wide array of personnel issues and strategies. We look forward to her leadership in ensuring that everyone on our team achieves their full potential and career goals, all while continuing to provide our citizens with the professional services they expect and deserve.”
Wynn will be residing in Suffolk with her husband.
