Crash injures four

Multiple people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Monday evening.
The crash was reported at 7:36 p.m. It happened in the 7500 block of Whaleyville Boulevard near Collins Road and involved three passenger vehicles, according to a city press release.
Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded. A woman was airlifted by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries. A man was also taken to Sentara Norfolk by ground ambulance with serious injuries. A man and woman were taken by Gates County EMS to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The roadway is expected to be closed for an extended period of time as the vehicles are removed and the roadway is cleared of debris. The investigation into the accident also remains ongoing.
