District sees uptick of two cases of COVID-19

The Western Tidewater Health District now has 207 cases of COVID-19.
There are 92 cases in Suffolk, 86 in Isle of Wight County, 17 in Southampton County and 12 in Franklin. The total is an uptick of only two from Sunday.
Statewide, there are 8,990 cases of COVID-19, according to the Virginia Department of Health. That includes confirmed cases and cases where there were symptoms and a known exposure. About 300 Virginians have died of the illness.
The Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association reports 828 people are hospitalized who have been confirmed positive for the disease. About 468 people are hospitalized with test results pending.
There are 396 people in the ICU with confirmed or suspected COVID-19, and 237 are on a ventilator.
About 626 ventilators are in use at hospitals total, about 22 percent of the ventilators on hand.
There are 33 people hospitalized in the Western Tidewater Health District, the same number as Sunday.
