The Lakeland High School boys’ basketball team had three players honored for All-Region and also snagged the Coach of the Year honor.

The Cavs had a region tournament run to remember. They went into the playoffs with the No. 3 seed and were able to come away with four wins to become the region champions. Along the way, they knocked off the No. 1 seed, Hopewell High School, and put up a region-high 117 points against Park View High School.

Three seniors — Clint Wright Jr., Keimari Artis and Raymond Bellamy — earned All-Region honors. Wright Jr. and Artis were first team selections, while Bellamy was a second team selection.

Clint Wright Sr. was selected the region Coach of the Year after coaching Lakeland to a region championship.
