NSA bests Norfolk Christian to advance

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy boys’ basketball team advanced to the conference semifinals with a win over Norfolk Christian.
The Saints boys’ basketball team hosted Norfolk Christian in the first round of the conference tournament, and with a 77-53 win has advanced to the semifinals. After a one-point lead after the first quarter, the Saints went on throughout the last three quarters to run away with the game.
Four Saints scored in double figures, with Kaleb Brown leading the way with 25 points and eight rebounds. He shot 3-4 from the three-point line. Grant Lopez added 19 points, going 5-9 from the three-point line. George Pettaway was close to a double-double, scoring 14 points and adding nine assists, and Kemauri Spencer added 15 points.
NSA will play in the conference semifinals at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Norfolk Christian.
