Former King’s Fork High School star Sugar Rodgers has re-signed with the Las Vegas Aces.
Rodgers will get ready to spend her second season in Las Vegas. She was acquired by the Aces in a trade last April after spending time in New York playing for the Liberty.
Last season, Rodgers shot 35.7 percent from the three-point line and played in 33 of 34 regular season games. Coach Bill Laimbeer spoke about the excitement of having Rodgers return.
“Sugar is a premier three-ball threat, as well as a solid defender who knows our system,” Aces Head Coach and President of Basketball Operations Bill Laimbeer said. “Sugar has also embraced the Las Vegas community, and is the type of player, and person, that we want representing the Aces.”
Over seven years, Rodgers has been able to make a mark in the WNBA. During that time frame she has been one of the premier three-point shooters and has earned accolades such as being a WNBA All-Star in 2017 and winning the Sixth Women of the Year award that same season.
