Jones makes dean’s list
Alexis Jones, daughter of Kimberly and Paul Jones, of Suffolk, was named to the dean’s list at Sweet Briar College for the 2019 fall semester.
Jones is a junior majoring in psychology. She is a 2017 graduate of King’s Fork High School.
At the end of each fall and spring term, the college recognizes students who have shown outstanding ability and achievement during the semester. To make the list, students must earn a 3.5 grade point average with a minimum of 12 graded academic hours.
LaBella named to dean’s list
Sophia R. LaBella, of Suffolk, was named to The University of Alabama dean’s list for fall 2019.
A total of 12,050 students enrolled during the 2019 fall term at UA were named to the dean’s list with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the president’s list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s).
The UA Dean’s and President’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or to undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.
Local residents earn degrees
Dian Betkowski, of Suffolk, has earned a degree from Western Governors University. The online, nonprofit university has graduated more than 167,000 students from across the country since its inception in 1997.
Betkowski has earned a Bachelor of Science in information technology degree.
Munoz named to dean’s list
The University of Rhode Island recently announced more than 6,000 undergraduates have qualified for the fall 2019 Dean’s List. Sophia Munoz, of Suffolk, was among those honored.
To be included on the Dean’s List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average.
Hayes-Keller named to dean’s list
Jaylon Hayes-Keller, of Suffolk, a performance major, earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher at Shenandoah University in the Fall 2019 semester. Jaylon is one of 893 students that earned Dean’s List honors in the Fall 2019 semester.
