Bulldogs to host dual tournament

The King’s Fork High School wrestling team will host a six-team dual this Saturday.
As the Bulldogs continue to prepare for the postseason, they will wrap up their regular season with a team-hosted dual. The dual will feature six teams, with Nansemond River High School being the only other Suffolk school featured.
“It’ll be a great atmosphere for wrestling,” King’s Fork Coach Jason Dunaway said. “We have a nice mix of teams coming. We just want to put something together we can build on for the future and just continuing to build the wrestling culture here.”
Dunaway has felt good about how his team has wrestled to this point, having gone through growing pains and things that he feels will help his team get better.
“Things have been going well, and the team has been wrestling well,” Dunaway said. “I feel like we have some kids getting to where they are supposed to be physically and mentally.”
This is around the time of the season that all teams want to be wrestling especially well, and the Southeastern District has given the Bulldogs the opportunity to do so. King’s Fork was able to get two team wins this season, over Lakeland High School and Indian River High School, which was a first. The Bulldogs feel like they are starting to close the gap with some of the top schools in the district.
The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at King’s Fork.
