Police charge teen with social media threat

Suffolk Police have arrested a teen on charges regarding a social media threat made last fall, according to a city press release.
Samuel Allen Ritter, 18, a student at Nansemond River High School, was arrested on Jan. 17 on charges including making a threat in writing/electronic message at school/school event, a felony, and threatening phone calls, a misdemeanor.
Police were contacted on Oct. 9 after a student informed a school administrator of a threat that was posted on Snapchat during which Ritter made specific threats related to harming students at the school, the press release stated.
