In the first state poll of the season, the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ basketball team came in at No. 2.

The NSA Lady Saints are currently 9-2 on the season. That mark is good for a No. 2 ranking in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II poll. The Lady Saints were expected to return this season and pick up where they left off, having finished within the final four of the state tournament last season.

Many Lady Saints have envisioned this team being capable of playing for a state title this season, and with a top two seed, the Lady Saints could be on track to make it there.
